ABOUT US

The Anarchist Network of Vancouver Island is an anarchist group based in British Columbia, Canada. The group is leaderless and decentralized acting as one the proponents to help revive the name of Anarchism as well as help contribute to the eventual overthrow of the state, capitalism, colonization, imperialism, industrial civilization, patriarchy as well as any form of systemic and cultural hierarchy. The Anarchists of Vancouver Island strive to advocate for an egalitarian, just and communal form of life that turns away as far as possible from the evils of capital and political power which is being imposed on people.

What do we stand for

The A.N.V.I builds itself upon the foundations of equity, justice, total liberation and solidarity with those who suffer under the current hierarchal culture the enforces systemic power as well as mass industrial violence against the natural word. As an anarchists collective, we strive to help create a society without systemic oppression, power and domination which is inherently connecting to environmental degradation and rights abuses.

We stand in support of worker movement, queer liberation, green liberation and many other international struggles. We implement a strong focus on direct action, mutual aid and decolonization, more so on indigenous rights die to the local material conditions as well as the scarce situation and conflict that is happening over at fairy creek

A.N.V.I activities

-Mutual Aid: Public Resource Distribution (Food,Water,Books)
-Public Direct Action: Demonstrations, Rallies, Marches, and Protests
-Opposition to colonial violence: Joining the activists over at Fairy Creek
-Guerilla Gardening: Planting in uncared areas
-Education: Unveiling the true meaning behind Anarchism and its legacy
Local population assemblies and councils will also be created to bring into attention the modern societal and systemic problems in Victoria, the issues regarding the provincial government, growing poverty, the Fairy Creek Blockade and many more. These potentially can also emerge as free associations or union groups of independent activists and advocates for justice. Each and every individual represents themselves and themselves only, decisions are made collectively though voting and engaging in discussions to find benefiting solutions
